Barton Springs Pool Tickets is an independent visitor guide to Barton Springs Pool and the bookable water and city experiences around it. It is not the City of Austin, not the pool, and not a tour operator — and it does not sell pool entry, because nobody does. Entry is $2–$9 at the gate; the official pool page is at austintexas.gov.
Who writes this
I’m Dana Whitfield. I’ve lived in Austin my whole life and I’ve been swimming laps at Barton Springs before work since 2009, which means I’ve paid the gate fee more times than I can count and have opinions about the Thursday cleaning closure that I mostly keep to myself. When people visit me, I take them on the tours — I’ve done every water and city tour reviewed on this site with out-of-town guests, some of them more than once, and the reviews come from those trips plus the traveler reviews on GetYourGuide.
Why a site called “pool tickets” that doesn’t sell pool tickets
Because that’s what people search for, and the honest answer deserves to outrank the evasive ones. There is no online ticket for Barton Springs Pool. You pay $2–$9 at the gate — kiosk, cashier or the ATXSwims app — and from November to Spring Break you pay nothing. The free side below the dam never charges at all. What does sell out online, on summer weekends, are the experiences around the springs: the sunset bat kayak tour, the rentals, the bike and driving tours. I write up the pool honestly and point you to those when they fit.
